On the nose, Anthonij Rupert's Cabernet Franc presents seductive notes of cocoa, spices, graphite and dried lavender, with a hint of toasted hazelnuts. On the palate the red wine has aromas of black cherry, plum and chocolate, and shows a perfect and refined integration with wood.
Different facets of aromas gradually reveal themselves upon tasting. Powerful wine, although extraordinarily harmonious and elegant. A great example of an excellent vintage that will improve with aging.

Origin
Wine of Origin South Africa, Franschhoek.
In the vineyard
In the vineyard
The grapes selected for Cabernet Franc come from the L'Ormarins estate in Franschhoek. The vines are planted on specific sites, with decomposed granite soil, selected as the most suitable to produce the best grapes for Cabernet Franc.
In the cellar
In the cellar
The grapes are harvested by hand and transported to the winery in refrigerated vans. In the cellar, the grapes are selected by an optical sorter, capable of identifying only the best quality bunches, and then placed in French fermentation barrels. Malolactic fermentation occurs naturally in the barrels. The wine finally matures in 225 liter French oak barrels (60% new) for 18/24 months. This is followed by bottling and refinement for 3 years before marketing this South African Cabernet Franc.
